What do I need to take?
You will be provided with full details on what to take on your Inspired Adventure in your registration pack. Basic essentials for trekking include a good pair of well worn-in ankle-high boots; a water-bladder and comfortable day-pack; trekking poles are optional and recommended; sunglasses; suncream and wind-proof and water-proof clothing.
What about the environmental impact of these adventures?
We have specifically chosen to work with key travel partners whose responsible tourism credentials are exemplary. Peregrine Adventures are recipients of the Virgin Holidays responsible tourism awards 2007 and have a carbon offset component integrated into their ground costs.
Becoming Carbon Neutral
Traveling overseas, in fact using any form of motorised transport, means the emission of greenhouse-gases that contribute to climate change. For more information or to purchase carbon credits for your international flights please visit the climate friendly section of our website.
Please refer to the information pack for your chosen departure for details.
Can I extend my stay?
Yes, many of our participants decide to extend their stay to get the most from their overseas adventure!
(An administration fee may apply).
Can I take my own bike?
Your bicycle is included on our cycle challenges (and for a small fee on Le Tour de France) and we recommend that you take your own pedals if you are used to using them. You can take your own cycle seat too. You will need to take your own helmet; cycling gloves and padded cycling shorts.
What level of comfort can I expect?
On all our trekking & cycling adventures we camp in comfort, using the best equipment. All your gear is carried (except where specified) and meals are cooked for you while our staff prepare the camp. On our adventures our accompanying leader and staff take care of your day to day needs while you stay in local hotels and travel in comfortable private vehicles.
How safe is it?
On all our trips your well-being is our first priority. Our travel partner staff constantly review every aspect of your adventure and our expert guides are fully conversant with the demands of traveling in remote regions.
Where do we stay?
To capture the essence of your journey we have wherever possible selected accommodation with local character. In the cities our hotel rooms are on a twin share basis with private facilities. In remote localities you can expect simple, clean but more basic facilities. When in the field we provide the best possible camping service complete with comfortable two person tents, a mess tent and toilet tent.
What about the food?
We are fully aware of the healthy appetites that build up when trekking, cycling or touring and provide tasty and varied meals with plenty of fresh ingredients. Our excellent cooks serve a sensible combination of local and European dishes while at the same time ensuring high standards of hygiene. On all our trips your good health is our highest priority. Please let our travel partners know if you have any special dietary requirements.
What vaccinations do I need?
Please refer to your GP or local travel clinic for this advice. Inspired Adventures do not give medical advice.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, it is obligatory and your responsibility to get this and provide details to our travel partner, before departure. We recommend World Nomads
Do I need a visa?
It is your responsibility to obtain the relevant visa or visas that you may need. Please refer to the pre-departure information in your registration pack.
