Yes, you can! Fundraising and fitness training may sound intimidating, but we’re here to get you across the finish line. We’ll call you regularly with advice, ideas and encouragement—you are not in this alone.
Remember, you are raising money for a wonderful cause and training for the challenge of a lifetime!
The fundraising target is typically $10,000 for our marathons. You are not alone, you will also have regular support from the Inspired team, who will help you develop and manage your fundraising plan and call you every 3 weeks to keep on track. You’ll also have support from the Charity.
Past participants have successfully fundraised in many creative and fun ways. We will send you a comprehensive Fundraising Toolkit upon registration full of ideas to help you reach your target.

Running a marathon is a physical challenge. The fitter you are, the more you will enjoy the experience. This challenge is specifically designed for people who are relatively fit and willing to train. We recommend that upon registration, you consult your GP or a personal trainer to develop a marathon training plan. Walking, cycling, running and stair climbing will all strengthen your legs and improve stamina.
To secure your guaranteed race entry you must book your travel package through Travelling Fit. Accommodation packages vary and start from 3 nights accommodation packages twin-share. If you have family or friends who want to support you in country, simply add them to the booking form as a non-runner.
Let’s break it down. The cost of participating in an Inspired Adventure includes:
- The registration fee of $770 plus the travel deposit are payable upon registration (varies depending on the marathon) (non-refundable)
- The final balance is due 90 days prior to departure (varies depending on the marathon and your travel requirements, see specific marathons for more details) (can be fundraised).
Many of our community fundraisers choose to fundraise their travel costs in addition to their donation. Alternatively you can part fundraise your travel costs or pay the full amount yourself.
