BirdLife Australia is the country’s oldest national conservation organisation and the only one devoted to the future of our native birds. Today, we are an independent, not-for-profit organisation with a single aim: creating a bright future for Australia’s birds.

BirdLife Australia delivers practical actions for protecting native birds. We successfully combine leading-edge technology with citizen science (good old-fashioned field work) to protect Australia’s birds and their habitats.

Our aim is to make a real and positive difference for Australia’s birds through our expertise and specialised knowledge combined with our ability to unite and inspire the birding community. This means that we can act quickly at local, state and national levels.

We also help people learn about birds and conduct plenty of bird watching activities!
