The March for MND 2020 is your chance to give people living with motor neurone disease, their families and carers access to the best support, services and equipment.

The March for MND 2020 is your chance to take on an unforgettable adventure trek in Australia’s Red Centre. You’ll be part of an incredible team, raising awareness and funds for MND NSW to provide essential services and support for people living with motor neurone disease. You’ll stand united as a team knowing the difference you’ve made.

On this adventure, you will trek the legendary Larapinta Trail, regarded as one of Australia’s premier walking tracks. From the old Alice Springs Telegraph Station to the peak of Mount Sonder, the trail stretches 223 kilometres along the backbone of the West MacDonnell Ranges. Over 5 days, you will journey along the most spectacular and rewarding sections of the trail, trekking over 60 kilometres. You will follow Aboriginal Dreaming tracks and explore the beautiful mountains, valleys, rivers and the dramatic desert landscapes of the Red Centre.

By day, you’ll trek through the ochre-landscapes of the outback, witnessing the sacred sites of the Arrernte people and by night you’ll camp under the stars, falling asleep to the sounds of native wildlife.

Best of all, you’ll be raising vital funds for MND NSW to give people living with motor neurone disease the chance to live better for longer.

Although there is currently no cure for motor neurone disease (MND), research has shown some interventions can help people diagnosed with MND to live more comfortably.

People who have been diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) face a multitude of losses during the progression of this incurable and fatal disease. Loss of the ability to move independently or to communicate with people can be minimised through the use of specialised pieces of equipment. Equipment loaned by MND NSW not only improves the quality of life for people with MND but also the quality of life for their carers.

By taking on the March for MND in 2020, you can help us raise vital funds to provide essential services, equipment and support for people living with motor neurone disease.
