Tens of thousands of animals come in RSPCA’s care every year and each one needs shelter, rehabilitation, veterinary care or at the very least – love. Join the Wild Walk 2020 and trek for animal welfare in Costa Rica!

The Wild Walk: Costa Rica 2020 is an extraordinary adventure bringing together like-minded supporters of the RSPCA to trek for animal welfare.

Costa Rica is a natural wonderland, a stunning mosaic of tropical flora and fauna. You will experience it all on the Wild Walk 2020 as you trek for four days through protected national parks and wildlife refuges along Costa Rica’s southern Caribbean coast. From lush tropical rainforests, to volcanic crater lagoons and coastal reserves, you’ll see the best this spectacular country has to offer.

You will also have the very special opportunity to visit the Sloth Sanctuary Costa Rica, a safe haven that rescues, protects and rehabilitates sloths. Here, you’ll learn all about these lovable, furry friends and even meet the sanctuary’s oldest resident sloth, Buttercup!

Best of all, you’ll have expert local guides to introduce you to this remarkable country and a team of passionate RSPCA supporters to share the experience with.

Tens of thousands of animals come in RSPCA’s care every year and each one needs shelter, rehabilitation, veterinary care or at the very least – love.

All of our rescue and rehabilitation programs aim to give animals a second chance at life at their own pace and in their own time. We carry out our work through shelters, animal hospitals, community outreach education programs and animal welfare officers. We do all of this with less than two percent of our funding from the government.

All funds you raise on this challenge will go towards animals in need. We rely almost entirely on the support of generous people like you, and your fundraising can help us continue to be the voice for animals in Australia.

• $5 can pay for treats for an animal while they’re in our care

• $40 can heat a kennel and keep an abandoned dog warm

• $135 could help vaccinate a litter of puppies

• $200 could provide vaccinations and microchips for animals living in remote and regional areas

• $350 can subsidise the cost of prosecuting a cruelty offender in the NSW courts or help keep an inspector on the road in Victoria

• $5000 can help cover the costs of a parvo vaccination drive in a disadvantaged community
