With every step you take on the streets of New York, you are helping to build a better future for young Australians in need.

$200 pays for a school essentials pack to help a disadvantaged student with necessities like school shoes, sports kits and stationery

$576 provides school level sponsorship to a student – financial, personal and program support for one year through the Learning for Life program

$750 gives five students the opportunity to have reading books and be matched with a trained reading buddy for 18 weeks who helps them improve their reading skills

$1,000 funds a Tech Pack, ensuring disadvantaged families stay ‘connected’ and access vital information and services by helping pay for a refurbished computer, internet access, training and on-going technical support.

$3,000 sponsors a disadvantaged tertiary level student for one year, assisting with educational essentials required to complete their degree

How do I fundraise?

Past adventurers have successfully fundraised in many creative and fun ways. As soon as you register, your dedicated fundraising team will work with you to create a comprehensive fundraising plan and help you set up your online page. One of our fundraising coaches will contact you regularly with ideas, advice, encouragement—and plenty of inspiration!

For many of our fundraisers, achieving their fundraising target is as simple as reaching out to family, friends, networks and their community. From fundraising classics such as trivia nights, movie nights and sausage sizzles, to more out-of-the-box fundraising ideas, your fundraising coach is on hand to help you develop and implement the best ideas to ensure you reach your goal.

What is the minimum age and general age range of participants?

The minimum age for this adventure is 18, however younger ages are considered on application. We have had participants aged 16–70 and older take part in our charity challenges, all united by their sense of adventure.

How fit do I need to be?

This adventure is ranked 5/5 (challenging).

Our adventures are specifically designed for people who are relatively fit and willing to train. Running a marathon is a physical challenge and, the fitter you are, the more you will enjoy the experience.

We recommend that upon registration, you consult your GP and a personal trainer to develop a marathon training plan.
