Help White Ribbon end violence against women and girls by joining The Cycle for Women and Girls in Cambodia
The Cycle for Women and Girls is an unforgettable and life-changing cycling adventure in Cambodia.
You’ll cycle beyond the tree-lined boulevards of Siem Reap to the magnificent Angkor Temple Complex and past the city limits into the countryside: through rice paddies, sugar-palm plantations and small villages. You’ll spend half a day discovering the secrets to traditional Cambodian cuisine and learn more about the remarkable history of the Khmer people.
The adventure concludes in Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s bustling capital. Here you will have free time to explore the contrasts of ancient and modern and learn more about the confronting history of this country.
Best of all, you’ll complete the challenge alongside like-minded teammates all united by a sense of adventure and giving back.
1 in 4 women have experienced emotional abuse by a current or former partner since the age of 15.
On average, one woman a week is murdered by her current or former partner.
1 in 5 women have experienced sexual violence since the age of 15.
85% of Australian women have been sexually harassed.
Australian police deal with domestic violence every two minutes.
These facts are NOT acceptable.
You can help change this reality by fundraising for White Ribbon on the Cycle for Women and Girls. The money you raise on this challenge will go towards funding best practice primary prevention programs, community engagement initiatives and research to help end men’s violence against women.
- $10,000 could give 800 primary school pupils (at two White Ribbon Primary Schools; 400 pupils per school) the language to navigate the complexities of domestic and family violence, the confidence to learn to expect respect and the tools to stand up, speak out and act to prevent bullying and disrespectful behaviour at home and in their school community
- $75,000 can train two Breaking the Silence facilitators and help us expand the program nationally
- $75,000 could help us support a “Diversity and Inclusion Project Officer” role to drive positive social change among men from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.
Men’s violence against women is not just a woman’s issue. It’s a social issue. It’s everybody’s issue. Let’s tackle violence against women together.
