Dr Michael Bonning is a General Practitioner who has deployed extensively with the Royal Australian Navy to the Middle East, Asia, the Southern Ocean, the Pacific and the Mediterranean. He currently splits his time between Sydney, London and New York working in general practice, health policy and advising in the development of medical devices.
Michael was formerly the Senior Medical Officer for the Royal Australian Navy base at Woolloomooloo and has trained in diving and hyperbaric medicine. He is interested in best practice remote and wilderness medicine and risk management. He shares his skills in clinical governance with Inspired Adventures, joining Dr James Lawrence in advising the organisation.
Michael loves helping people achieve trekking goals they thought were beyond them and gains satisfaction from knowing that these efforts are in support of worthy causes. He doesn’t mind that he gets to do that while hiking in some of the most beautiful parts of the world. He wants to make every trek for Inspired Adventures challenging, exciting, accessible and safe.
