The Difference You'll Make
Each year in Australia, over 6,700 women are diagnosed with gynaecological cancer, and nearly a third will not survive. Groundbreaking research is urgently needed to improve survival rates—and your support can make it happen.
Join the Bold Five Peaks Cherish Challenge, a four-day adventure summiting five of Australia’s iconic peaks, including Mt Kosciuszko, the nation’s highest at 2,228m. Set in the stunning Kosciuszko National Park, this trek takes you through alpine beauty, rugged mountains, and pristine wilderness with views you’ll never forget.
This is more than a challenge—it’s a journey with purpose. Every step you take helps fund vital research to improve the early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of gynaecological cancer, offering women brighter futures.
You’ll start your trek alongside the Epic Peaks Cherish Challenge team, tackling ten peaks over the same four days. After setting out on separate paths, you’ll reconnect each evening to share stories and celebrate your achievements.
Ready to push your limits in Australia’s most iconic mountain landscape? This is your moment to conquer peaks, forge bonds, and create memories to last a lifetime!

Trip notes
You will make your own way to Thredbo for the start of our adventure. You will need to arrive in the late afternoon, in time for our first team briefing and dinner. Ensure you get a good night’s sleep; we’ve got a big adventure ahead of us!
Accommodation: Lodge
Meals: D
After breakfast, we depart from our accommodation in Thredbo and transfer to Charlotte Pass, where our trek begins. We’ll head east towards Perisher along a new trail that flows through the alpine valleys and rugged landscapes of Kosciuszko National Park. As we walk, we’ll have the opportunity to enjoy beautiful views of high-country plains, snow-capped mountain ranges and clear-flowing rivers. We’ll also have the chance to see unique animals and plants that make this area special, like ancient snow gums, summer wildflowers, wombats and echidnas. We then take a short scramble to the summit of Porcupine Rocks, where we get a glorious view of the Thredbo Valley, before returning to our accommodation.

Trekking Distance: 13.5km

Today we hike one of the best, most accessible trails in the region with spectacular views. We leave our Lodge at Thredbo at around 8.30 am, grab a coffee from the Village Green and catch the first chairlift at 9 am. The 15-minute ride takes us to Eagle’s Nest at just over 1,900 metres where we get stunning views of the Thredbo Valley. From Eagle’s Nest we walk along the Kosciuszko summit trail for 500 metres before turning left onto the Dead Horse gap trail. The trail initially runs through sub-alpine heath but then descends through twisted snow gums and wildflowers (during summer) to Dead Horse Gap. Dead Horse Gap was once a meeting place for Aboriginal groups in the summer, where they would perform ceremonies and trade with each other.
The pass acts as a funnel for the migration of insects and birds. In the early 20th century, the pass became increasingly popular with stockmen, who brought sheep and cattle to the mountains each summer. From Dead Horse Gap, we make our way back to Thredbo along the Thredbo River and take in the sounds and sights of beautiful waterfalls.

Trekking distance: 10km

Today is the day! We tackle Australia’s highest peak, Mt Kosciuszko (2,228m). We depart from our lodge and board the chairlift once again to the start of the track. The track winds above Lake Cootapatamba, Australia’s highest lake. You’ll want to have your camera at the ready for the views of Australia’s highest mountains, historic huts, weathered snow gums and rock formations on the way. We will stop for lunch before making it to the summit, an amazing accomplishment! Our final summit for the day is Etheridge Ridge, standing at an impressive 2,180m. Tonight, we have our last team dinner together at a local restaurant.

Trekking distance: 14km

Feeling well-rested, today we take on two more summits. Once again, we board the Thredbo chairlift, and begin to make our way to Rams Head (2,190m), the fourth highest mountain in Australia. At the summit, enjoy views of the Main Range. Our next summit is Rams Head North, at 2,177m. From here, we descend via Dead Horse Gap and the Thredbo River trail. We return to Thredbo and after a sad goodbye to our new friends, it is time to make your way back home, taking with you memories that will last a lifetime.
