The Difference You'll Make
It’s estimated that 1 in every 161 Australians will be diagnosed with brain cancer during their lifetime. But alarmingly little is known about the disease, its causes or how to treat it. Brain cancer is also one of the most underfunded cancers of all with the 5 year survival rate at only 23%.
The Mark Hughes Foundation through its fundraising efforts has established, in partnership with the University of Newcastle a “Centre for Brain Cancer Research”. The Centre, through collaboration across the country, is driving critical research, education, and health care improvements at a national scale for brain cancer patients, their families and carers, and health professionals.
