Meet Sheena: Rebuilding Hope After Devastating Floods

In 2022, relentless monsoon rains left one-third of Pakistan underwater, causing one of the worst disasters in the country's history. Millions, including families like Sheena’s, are still recovering in 2024.

Sheena vividly recalls the night the floodwaters reached her home, washing away the peaceful life and home she once knew.

"The flood came at night. We had nowhere to go, no relatives. We saved our children and ourselves but lost our crops, seeds, livestock, and home."

In partnership with Islamic Relief Pakistan, ShelterBox provided Sheena’s family with essential locally sourced building materials—cement, doors, and bricks—as well as cash for labor. This crucial support enabled them to build a new, permanent home, offering security and a reliable roof against future rains.

Sheena’s story underscores the profound impact of your generosity. For families like hers, rebuilding after such devastation is more than physical; it’s about restoring hope and stability.

“Home is not just a four-wall building; it’s the family we live with, the love we share, and the support we offer each other. Living happily together, through good and bad—that is home for me.”

Your fundraising efforts deliver more than shelter—they provide hope, security, and a fresh start.
