The Difference You'll Make
The tragic reality is that 78 women have lost their lives to violence in Australia this year. In the last financial year alone, Women & Children First supported over 1,200 new clients, including women and children facing domestic violence, abuse, and the threat of homelessness.
The rising cost of living, combined with increased awareness of the different forms of abuse, has led to a growing number of women and families seeking critical support services. Unfortunately, more women and children are now at risk of or experiencing homelessness due to violence and economic pressures than ever before. Your support is crucial in helping Women & Children First continue their vital work
As you traverse the stunning ochre landscapes of the Larapinta trail, you’ll follow ancient Aboriginal Dreaming tracks alongside one of the world’s oldest river systems. Each day, immerse yourself in the diverse desert habitats and the rich cultural heritage of Australia’s Indigenous peoples. Evenings will be spent beneath a blanket of stars, accompanied by the enchanting sounds of native wildlife. On top of all of this, know that you are walking alongside a team of individuals working toward the betterment of the lives of women and children.
Here's the impact your fundraising will have;
- $110 provides a family with access to a counselling session helping them on their journey to healing from the trauma of abuse
- $204 provides 1 night of safe accommodation and critical support services for a family living in our refuge or housing
- $1,428 provides 1 week of safe accommodation and critical support services for a family living in our refuge or housing
