How it works

Our adventures are designed for people of all ages and fitness levels. We have had adventurers aged from 16 to 91 take part in our charity challenges, all united by their sense of adventure and passion for the cause.

While no prior trekking, running or cycling experience is required prior to registering for an Inspired Adventure, our adventures are physically challenging. The more physically and mentally prepared you are, the more you will enjoy it. While your fitness is your responsibility, we’ll give you lots of ideas and inspiration along the way to prepare for your challenge.

Of course, most people do! Throughout your adventure journey, we will connect you with your fellow adventurers so you can get to know each other before you hit the road.

At Inspired Adventures, we pride ourselves on being fundraising experts. You will have regular support from the Inspired Adventures fundraising team, who will help you make a fundraising plan to meet your target. Almost everyone exceeds their target, so we know you can do it. Alongside personalised coaching, we will also send you lots of ideas and resources on how to fundraise. From online fundraising to trivia nights, to movie nights and out-of-the-box ideas, we have years and years of tried and tested experience to make your fundraising a success.

We believe small group travel is better for the planet, and better for you. Our adventures usually have 10 - 20 participants, connected by their commitment to the greater good.

Inspired Adventures is committed to doing everything we can to make our adventures accessible. Each adventure has different conditions - please contact our friendly team to discuss your needs. For some adventures, participants will be required to have medical clearance from their GP prior to travel.

From the minute you register until you return from your adventure, the team at Inspired Adventures will provide you with everything you need - from a bespoke fundraising plan, fitness advice and travel preparations. You will receive access to your online adventure portal complete with your own online fundraising page and lots of resources to help you along the way. Your registration fee goes towards our cost of managing the adventure and supporting you on your journey.

All of our adventures are rated in physical difficulty from 1 (easy) to 5 (challenging). 

Inspired Adventures are generally rated as 3 and above as they often have long and consecutive days of physical activity. 

Adventures rated 5/5 are challenging and usually include an additional element of difficulty, such as high altitude or harsh conditions. 

Regardless of the difficulty, you will be well supported on the adventure by the guides and the wider team. You can move at your own pace and we take frequent rest breaks  Where possible, a support vehicle is available to transport you if you feel you are unable to complete the day. You are generally required to carry a day pack with personal items such as water, snacks, medications and spare clothing. The rest of your luggage will be transported by vehicle or porter.

A breakdown of inclusions and exclusions are available for each adventure in the Information Pack. The travel cost generally includes:

• Return airport shuttle transfers in the destination country and all other transfers as per the itinerary
• Twin-share accommodation in 3-star hotels, lodges or huts, or comfortable camping 
• All meals as per the itinerary and water on activity days
• All National Park entrance and fees
• Camping equipment including tents and sleeping mats if applicable
• Bikes and cycling equipment if applicable
• Accredited, first-aid trained local guides and an Inspired Adventures tour leader and/or doctor

Travel costs generally do not include airfares, meals as not stated in the itinerary, personal expenses (such as laundry and alcoholic drinks), travel insurance and tips and gratuities.

Travel insurance is compulsory for all international adventures and must provide adequate cover for cancellation, delays in travel, loss or damage to baggage and valuables, medical and hospital expenses for injury or illness, and emergency evacuation. We recommend purchasing your policy as soon as possible and you will need to share these details with our team before departure. 

We highly recommend that you purchase domestic travel insurance for travel within Australia or New Zealand. A basic cancellation plan often protects you against the loss of pre-paid deposits and cancellation fees. A comprehensive plan usually covers travel delays, trip cancellation or amendments, lost luggage and travel documents, rental car insurance excess, loss of income and personal liability.

It’s normal to worry you won’t meet your fundraising target, but we know you can do it. In fact, with the support of Inspired Adventures, almost everyone goes on to raise far more than they imagined.

By registering for the adventure, you agree to raise the minimum fundraising amount specified. Like you, we are looking to make a significant impact for our charity partners, so the goal is for each person to have met their fundraising target before departure. If you fail to raise the minimum fundraising target by this time, we will review the situation on a case-by-case basis.
