THREE PEAKS, 21-23 Feb 2025

Having conquered Mount Kosciuszko over six times, R U OK? is expanding its horizons by adding two more peaks to their challenges. In February 2025, supporters will have the unique opportunity to summit three of Australia's highest mountains in a single day. This exhilarating event not only tests physical endurance but also promotes the spirit of connection and mental well-being through shared outdoor adventures.

Our success stories: 2022 - 2024

Kosciuszko Summit 2024

This year R U OK? had a huge team of 22 hiking up Mount Kosciuszko, Australia’s highest mountain, at sunrise. Bringing this trek to life and keeping morale high at 3am was a team effort, with every single person experiencing the breathtaking dawn at the summit.

Comments from the team highlighted that the hike provided a safe, inclusive space for everyone to share their stories and support each other, proving that no matter who you are or where you come from, you are a part of something bigger. This year's Kozi was a powerful testament to community and togetherness.

Larapinta Trek 2022

The Larapinta Trail was R U OK?s first trek outside of New South Wales, included yet another 3am wake up for a the Mount Sonder Hike! 11 dedicated participants raised a whopping $53,812 during this adventure, smashing the trail with ease.

This small but mighty team experienced the stunning beauty of the Northern Territory, renowned for its stunning landscapes, rugged mountain ranges, and striking desert vistas. It was the perfect backdrop for our team, holding significant cultural and natural importance.

Koscuiskzo Summit 2022

In 2022 a team of 8 fearless R U OK? supporters climbed Mount Kosciuszko which turned into a true test of fortitude! Battling fierce winds and heavy rain, the team braved the elements with unwavering spirit. This journey through the storm mirrored inner battles many individuals face, making it even more significant.

The group's ability to stay united and push forward, despite the challenges, beautifully illustrated the power of resilience and mutual support, leaving a lasting impact on everyone involved.

❄️ "You'll find me in the mountains" ❄️ was a place you could find my cousin John. Apart from working his Poll Hereford property just North of Raymond Terrace, John’s other love of life was skiing and the mountains.

For John and I the mountains brought a sense of remoteness and unexplainable reverie; a stillness leading to a sense of abiding peace and well-being that connected us and our souls outside of family. Two places on this earth that impacted John the most were Mt. Baker in the northwest United States, located in Washington State and our own Kosciuszko National Park.

“My story with mental health and suicide began at a young age. I suffered anxiety and OCD as a child, which manifested into depression as an adolescent. I was one of many around me who suffered, but no one was speaking out. I came out on social media speaking about mental health awareness and how we can help be there for others. This started conversations around me and created a healthier space relating to mental health and suicide prevention. I know first hand the importance of asking the question, of checking in and of being there for, being kind, and being real to others in your conversations around mental health.”

'Phenomenal experience. It was above my expectations on what I expected going in. I felt that the route was the perfect mix of challenging (to give us a sense of physical accomplishment) while still being achievable enough to be able to complete for someone with limited hiking experience. Can't recommend this enough.' - Dave, Kozi 2023

'We had a really great group, who got along from the start and were comfortable enough to share their own stories which made the trip even more special. The hike itself and scenery was amazing - Thomas, Kozi 2023

'WOW, it was an amazing weekend, everything was perfect, highly recommend!' - Helen, Kozi 2023
