The Challenge

Brain cancer kills more Australian children than any other disease, and more people under 40 than any other cancer. While the five-year survival rate for prostate cancer has risen from 60% to more than 90%, the improvements in five-year survival rates for brain cancer – from 21.2% to 22.3% – are negligible.

So, in September 2023, the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation and their supporters are trekking the Larapinta Trail to raise vital funds to help improve brain cancer survival rates and the quality of life for people living with the disease. Are you ready to join them?

On this epic five-day hiking adventure, you’ll explore the incredible Larapinta Trail, traversing the West MacDonnell Ranges and taking in the awe-inspiring scenery from red-dirt tracks. At night, you’ll sleep beneath a million stars. And the whole time you’ll be helping the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation fund research and treatment for brain cancer.

The Difference You'll Make

On the Trek Larapinta to Cure Brain Cancer challenge, you’ll be raising funds for one particularly aggressive type of brain cancer, glioblastoma. The money raised will help research treatments that will improve survival rates and quality of life for patients with glioblastoma. Another goal is to increase the number of patients gaining access to pivotal clinical trials. But they can only do it with your continued support.
