“The most humbling and emotional time of my life with a group of people who share a common bond and believe in the future.”
— Trevor Neil King, Trek4BrainCancer Larapinta 2019
About this challenge
Each year about 1,700 Australians are diagnosed with brain cancer, but there’s a survival rate of just 22 per cent. The Cure Brain Cancer Foundation believes that’s just not good enough and has set itself a mission to raise that rate to at least 50 percent in 10 years. But what that takes is funds: for research, of course, but also for programs that improve the outcomes for those diagnosed with the disease.
When you trek Cradle Mountain, part of the Tasmanian World Heritage Wilderness Area, for Trek4BrainCancer Tassie 2022 you’ll be exploring a region where ancient pines fringe glacial lakes and the landscape transforms from temperate rainforest to alpine heath. Chances are you’ll spot quolls and echidnas, maybe even a Tasmanian devil, as you hike.
And while you’re conquering mountain peaks on an adventure you’ll never forget, you’ll also be raising vital funds for the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation as it supports world-class brain cancer research and invests in projects to help people living with brain cancer.
How you'll make a difference
When you take on this Cradle Mountain challenge you’ll help us invest in research and treatments that will truly make a difference for people living with brain cancer, now and in the future. We fund world-class brain cancer research, and recently have provided financial support to projects that help kids with the disease. Our Innovation Programs are tailored to identify new drugs and better understand the biology of tumours in order to save lives and improve quality of life for people suffering from brain cancer.
The funds you raise will go directly towards this research, much of which includes pivotal brain cancer trials that will save lives. By taking on this challenge and fundraising for the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, you’re helping to rapidly increase brain cancer survival and improve quality of life for people impacted by the disease.

COVID-19 safety
We understand the dilemma of making travel plans when the world feels unpredictable right now. You can still register for an Inspired Adventure in complete confidence, because we promise to look after you should COVID-19 travel bans affect your plans.
If COVID-19 travel bans mean your Inspired Adventure cannot go ahead as scheduled, we will endeavour to reschedule the departure to a later date to allow you still to travel as planned.
Inspired Adventures follows the lead of the relevant government body as it pertains to COVID-19 vaccination requirements. It is your responsibility to ensure you are aware of requirements for travel from your departure state and arrival point, as well as any layover locations and the requirements of the airline you are travelling with.
