You'll immerse yourself in the magnificent Karri and Tingle forest where you come up close and personal with the largest living eucalypt in the world stretching high into the canopy, and admire the majestic glimpses of valley views as you take in the sights and sounds of this spectacular forest.

You will then trek through coastal heaths to lookouts to admire the rugged coastlines of Australia's south coast and the vista of the Southern Ocean stretching out as far as the eye can see. You may also choose to take a dip in the ocean to celebrate the end of a challenging trek. As you challenge yourself physically, you will be rewarded not only by some of the most scenic landscapes in Australia but all that you have learned and accomplished.

Trip notes

Day 1: Depart Perth, Inglehope Rail Crossing to Dwellingup

Make your own way to the Wellington Street Coach Stand in the Perth CBD at 8.00am, where you will meet your guides and the rest of your team. From here we will drive to Inglehope Rail Crossing. We enjoy morning tea together and then set off for our first trek of this adventure, an introduction to the Bibbulmun Track. Part of our trek today skirts beside WA’s last surviving lightly built railway, passing by Etmilyn Siding which is still in use today by the tourist steam train that runs between Dwellingup and the siding. After reaching Etmilyn, we continue through stands of blackbutt, jarrah, grass trees, red gum and banksia before we reach the quaint township of Dwellingup. Today’s trek finishes at our accommodation, where you’ll enjoy a well-earned rest before we regroup for pre-dinner nibbles, followed by a delicious two-course dinner prepared by your guides.

Trekking Distance: 12.5km

Transfer Time: 1 ½ hours

Meals: Lunch, Dinner

Day 2: Dwellingup to Island Pool

After breakfast this morning, we depart Dwellingup in the opposite direction to yesterday’s walk to enjoy a different perspective of the Bibbulmun Track. This section of the track traverses the Murray Valley beside the Murray River and makes its way through lush jarrah and marri forests offering stunning views over farmland and beautiful displays of wildflowers in season. Today’s trek will get the heart pumping as there are a few small hills to navigate, however, if you take your time and enjoy the surroundings you’ll be up and over before you know it! As the end of the day nears, we’ll stop at Swamp Oak Campsite for refreshments before we take the short drive to the stunning Island Pool on the Murray River where you can take your boots off and cool off your feet; or for the brave, take a dip! This pool is one of the most beautiful sections along the Murray River and the perfect place to relax before we return to our accommodation. Dinner tonight is at the local pub.

Trekking Distance: 14km

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3: Swamp Oak Spur Trail to Yarrigal Form, return to Perth

After breakfast, it's time to pack up and depart our accommodation. We are transferred back to where we left off walking yesterday, at the spur trail near Swamp Oak Campsite. Although today’s trek is shorter, the hills are a little steeper but you will certainly be rewarded with a sense of achievement as you head down the hill into Yarrigal Form, where our bus will be waiting. We return to Dwellingup for an opportunity to have a celebratory drink at the gorgeous ‘Dwelly Pub’, before we depart back to Perth, arriving around 4.00pm. If you are flying home tonight, ensure your flight is booked to depart after 6.00pm.
