Kathmandu - Pokhara - Kimrong

This morning we will transfer to the airport in Kathmandu for our morning flight to Pokhara. Once we arrive there, we will be transferred by 4WD Jeep to Kimche, where we will begin our hike to Kimrong. After about 4 hours of hiking, we will reach a small settlement called Kimrong Danda, offering spectacular views of the valleys and mountains from the hill. We have the option to do a small climb from here to Kot Danda, also known as Fort Hilltop, where we can find a small temple.

Kimrong - Sinuwa

Today we will begin our trek from Kimrng to Sinuwa via Chhomrong, where there is a lot of hilly walking. En route to Sinuwa, we will be trekking mainly through dense forest with endless rhododendron trees, marvellous scenery, pristine streams, traditional villages and snowcapped Himalayas. The trail will pass through the settlement of Taulung where the trail to Jhinu Danda and Annapurna Base Camp meet. Further on the trail, we will reach Chhomrong after the final climb over a long stone staircase. We will cross the Chhomrong river and continue on to the settlement of Tilche and Dalphuon, followed by one last uphill trek to reach Sinuwa.

Sinuwa - Duerali

Today is one of the longer days of hiking as we will trek from Sinuwa to Deurali along gradual hills. The trek will enter the Upper Modi Khola Valley from which the forests dominate the landscape rather than cultivation areas. After Kuldi, the trail will take us through slippery tracks and dense forest to Bamboo village, continuing on through the bamboo, oak and rhododendron forest to ascend gradually to Dovan. As we push on, we will pass the Himalayan hotel, waterfall and a cave known as Hinko or Hinku Cave, which holds religious significance for the locals, and finally reach Deurali. Here we can see the Machhapuchhre River meeting the Modi River. We will rest and adapt ourselves to our surroundings to prepare for the ascent to Annapurna Base Camp tomorrow.

Deurali – Annapurna Base Camp

We rise this morning for our big day of ascending to Annapurna Base Camp! As we begin our continuous uphill trek for the day, we step into the spot of Bagar, located at the confluence of Modi River and Machhapuchhre River. As we venture along the trail, the vegetation becomes sparse and boulders, rocky paths, glacial rivers and waterfalls will dominate the landscape. The trail parts away from the torrential river and approaches the base of the sacred Fishtail Mountain. From here, we can see views of the Annapurna Mountain range, Gaganpurna Mountain, Hiuchli Peak and of course the Machhapuchhre Mountain. We will stop to rest for a while, before continuing across a glacial river and turning along the gorge created between the lateral moraines of the South Annapurna Glacier and avalanche-prone mountain ridges. Finally, we arrive at the base camp of the Annapurna massif. We will explore the surrounding areas and watch a beautiful sunset to end our day of trekking.

Annapurna Base Camp – Bamboo

We wake this morning to the sun rising over the Annapurna massifs and other peaks. Today is a downhill trek, so it will be less strenuous than yesterday. We will enter the valley formed by the torrential Modi River, retracing our steps while making our way back to Bamboo village. We will see the same amazing landscape and scenery, but it is not any less impressive than the first time we saw it. Once we reach Bamboo we will rest before our last day of hiking tomorrow.

Bamboo – Jhinu - Pokhara 

It is our last day of trekking today, as we will hike from Bamboo to Jhinu, then drive back to Pokhara. The trail today has some steep sections, but the landscape of the region is outstanding and has great diversity along the route. As we hike along the stone steps and rocky terrains, we reach the settlement of Taulung, following on to Jhinu Danda with a gradual descent. Once we reach Jhinu Danda, we can enjoy the hot springs for some much-needed relaxation. It is believed these springs have elements to help relieve aches and pains. After this, we will be transferred back to Pokhara.

Fly to Kathmandu and Depart

This morning we will fly back to Kathmandu from Pokhara, where we will then say goodbye to our new friends and guides, as we part ways and begin our journeys back home.
